| Office Hours Our office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM and Friday 8:00AM to 12:00PM. We have two office locations and we rotate the days of the week at each office. We try to stay on schedule to minimize waiting at the time of your appointment. Delays to the schedule can occur and your understanding and patience are very much appreciated. If you have pain or an emergency situation, we will see you that day. |

| Your First Visit Our objective is to make sure your visits with us will be pleasant and informative. Your initial appointment will consist of an examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important visit will address the orthodontic needs of you or your child. We will answer any questions that you may have and discuss payment options and insurance. If it is determined that treatment is indicated and you are ready to initiate treatment we will schedule the necessary appointments to get your braces. If you are not ready for orthodontic treatment, you will be placed in our Growth and Guidance program and Dr. Green will periodically monitor the eruption of the permanent teeth. |
Please take a minute to print and fill out the patient information form before your first appointment:
Adult Health History |
| Please alert our office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, bisphosphonates, etc.) Diagnostic Records & Treatment Planning If it is determined that treatment is indicated, you will be scheduled for diagnostic records. If desired, diagnostic records can be done at the initial visit or the appointment when braces are placed. These records usually consist of study models (impressions of the teeth), intra-oral and extra-oral photographs, panoramic and cephalometric x-rays. Once these orthodontic records have been obtained, Dr. Green will review them and finalize a specific treatment plan for your orthodontic needs and begin your orthodontic treatment soon thereafter. Appointments The appointment when you get your braces usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals approximately 8 weeks apart for us to check your progress and make adjustments to your braces, which take 20 to 40 minutes. Be sure to schedule your appointment before you leave our office. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. Length of Treatment Braces may be on between 6 months to 30 months or longer depending on the age of the patient, the severity of the problem, the patient's cooperation and the degree of movement possible. The average treatment time is usually 22 months. Dental Care Before any orthodontic treatment, your family dentist should make certain that all cavities have been treated and the health of your gums and underlying bone are free of periodontal disease. You should continue to see your dentist for scheduled cleaning and cavity checkup visits during your orthodontic care. We would like to reinforce the need to keep your regular visits with your dentist because we are only an aid to your family dentist and not a replacement. |
